Microsoft Windows chief - Kevin Johnson

Microsoft Windows President, Platforms & Services Division, Kevin Johnson will leave the company to the head of the Directorate of Juniper Networks, Microsoft has confirmed Wednesday.

No immediate successor has been appointed to Johnson, as president of Microsoft’s Platforms and Services Division, reported directly to the CEO Steve Ballmer.

As for the departure of Johnson, his plans for Microsoft Windows-based online services department and division into two separate units, as they were until a few years ago. Microsoft will both inside and outside the company for a new head of online services, he said.

The company has not said how they manage the tasks of Windows, unless that the Bill Veghte, head of the aspect of things, and Steve Sinofsky, manages the business of technology, creation of reports from Ballmer. Microsoft said other emergency-Johnson now leads directly to Ballmer.

Juniper Networks did not immediately respond comments. In a statement the announcement of Johnson, Johnson Ballmer praised the contribution to society.

Johnson, joined Microsoft in 1992, was co-chairman of Windows and the online division as part of a radical restructuring of the company in 2005. If Jim Allchin, the other co-president withdrew a year later, Johnson has sole control.

Johnson was as deputy group chairman of the world of Microsoft sales, marketing and services in 2003, following the success of North America and marketing team. Before joining Microsoft, Johnson worked in the systems integration and consulting to IBM business unit, and as a developer of software in the fields of oil and industry and financial services.

As the head of Windows and Windows Live, Johnson has been revamped Microsoft launches online search and advertising strategy, as an important factor when Microsoft is catchup with Google in online search. He describes the new strategy in a communication from his team in May.

Last month, Johnson, in the drama Microhoo when the Financial Times Deutschland said that he had said, the software giant was interested in bidding on Yahoo under the new management. But after a representative of Microsoft, Johnson does not before such a situation.
